A race of reptilian humanoids, the Camarian have long developed psychic powers, revering mysticism over technological advances. As such, despite being an elder race among the rest of the Alliance, they only discovered space travel a few hundred years ago. Standing slightly taller than a human, they are slender and graceful, and somewhat snake like, with slanted eyes, sinuous movements, and a willowy frame. From head to toe they are covered in light turquoise scales that are sleek rather than rough; they are humanoid, exotic looking, but distinctly reptilian. Some have developed horns, some believe they are the link to their psionic powers, although both the Protectorate and the Collective have displayed this trait.

A strange trait among the Camarian is that the majority of them are in fact female.  While initially attributed to genetics, in recent times it was discovered that it's due to a genetic plague put into their genes in order to experiment on possible methods of war by the Kryslin. Since this discovery, the Camarian have been quite hostile, exploiting a great deal of resources in genetic therapy to remove the change in their genetics.
Unlike most psionic races, the Camarian discovered psionic power early into their civilization. They had few wars, as psionic espionage quicky could discover attack plans, and empathetic conferences generally resulted in a favorable even ground for all disputes. However, over time they developed a system of elitism, with any Camarian without psychic abilities being dubbed little more than slaves. This eventually led to a revolt, leading to the two current governing bodies on Camar; The Collective, who represent the psionics of the world, and the Protectorate, who represent the non-psionics. While they were bitter enemies for thousands of years, a thousand years ago the world finally entered into a time of peace. While bad blood still remained, with the discovery of their genetic restructuring, they have since galvanized against the common threat.

Benefits:

The Collective: Gains 2 Psionic upgrade slots
The Protectorate: Gain One Genetic/Cybernetic and one Technology upgrade slot


Innate Powers:

-Camarians cannot be afflicted by fear or psionic status effects
-Camarians gain 1d6 to their mental resilience stat if attacked by any psionic attack other than telekinesis.
-Camarians gain underwater breathing.
-Camarians gain advantage to persona score check when meeting races that know what they are.
-At the end of each mission, roll a 1D20, if 20, gain a new Psionic power.
-Camarians cap out at 240 IQ


Detriments:

-Have -2 to all checks and attacks in combat if not protected in extreme climates
-If belonging to Protectorate, you start with no psionic abilities, but can learn later
-If belonging to Collective, take hybrid "hunted" detriment
